About the Role
Giffen Consulting Ltd. is seeking Structural Design Contractors with a mining and heavy industrial background to support their engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical design and drafting support.
- Develop 3D models using Inventor/SolidWorks and integrate them into plant layout models.
- Prepare drawings for mechanical equipment, piping, and structural steel platework using AutoCAD/Inventor.
- Analyze designs of mechanical equipment, process systems, and mechanical components according to guidelines and client specifications.
- Interpret complex drawings incorporating interfacing civil, structural, and architectural design requirements with piping, process, and electrical disciplines.
- Prepare material take-offs and equipment lists.
- Review and perform quality checks of project documents for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications.
- Provide input on tendering, contract administration, schedule, and budget.
- Write and review technical reports, equipment specifications, and construction specifications.
- Collaborate with vendors, clients, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Familiar with greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Experience in mechanical equipment and plant layout design.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
