About the Role
Zurich Canada is seeking a Finance Application Architect to leverage financial systems expertise with data engineering and cloud technologies to enhance data consistency, governance, and business intelligence. This role involves architecting, designing, and enabling scalable solutions for financial data processing, reporting, and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end architecture for financial applications including billing, booking, financial reporting, and reconciliation systems.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and finance data models.
- Define and implement strategies for integrating data across finance systems, upstream transaction systems, and downstream reporting platforms.
- Develop frameworks for seamless data exchange between applications and financial source systems.
- Build robust pipelines to support financial data ingestion, transformation, and reporting.
- Advocate and enforce enterprise design patterns, reusable frameworks, and architectural best practices.
- Lead solution design reviews and technology selection.
- Work closely with finance, accounting, and business teams to gather requirements and drive solution feasibility.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to business stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to modernize legacy finance platforms using cloud-native and data technologies.
- Drive automation, performance optimization, and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- 6 or more years of experience in application architecture, data integration, or financial systems
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise financial data platforms
- Strong experience in financial systems (billing, booking, GL, reporting)
- Strong experience in data integration and transformation
- Strong experience with Azure ecosystem: Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, ADLS, Snowflake
- Expertise in ETL / ELT pipelines, data warehousing, data lake and financial data integration processes
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI / CD pipelines, and cloud automation
- Domain Expertise in Financial applications: Billing, Revenue Management, Booking systems, Actuarial systems
- Domain Expertise in Regulatory and financial reporting
- Domain Expertise in Financial data reconciliation and audit processes
