About the Role
This externship program is designed to provide veterinary students with practical experience in a contemporary small animal practice, contributing to their practice-readiness and preparing them for better patient care after graduation.
Responsibilities
- Gather patient histories.
- Perform physical examinations.
- Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
- Participate in surgical procedures.
- Assist in managing medical cases.
- Provide wellness care.
- Develop client communication skills.
- Enhance technical skills.
- Produce medical records (SOAPs) within daily practice time limits.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited DVM program.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must carry professional liability insurance (e.g., AVMA PLIT).
