About the Role

Monarch Communities, a premier provider of quality senior living, is seeking a Chef to join our team! The Chef will assist the Executive Chef in all phases of meal preparation, prepare salad bar offerings, desserts, and bakery items, and maintain the highest standards of sanitation and safety practices in all phases of kitchen operation, food preparation, and storage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in all phases of meal preparation.
  • Prepare salad bar offerings, desserts, and bakery items.
  • Maintain the highest standards of sanitation and safety practices in all phases of kitchen operation, food preparation, and storage.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of culinary methods as related to ingredient preparation and recipe execution.
  • Assist Executive Chef with meal preparation as assigned.
  • May assist in procurement of food inventory and supplies.
  • Properly label and store food items in accordance with safe storage standards.
  • Understand the operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment (food processor, dishwasher, convection oven, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including floors.
  • Responsible for creation and preparation of baked food items, breads, desserts, etc.
  • Perform scheduled cleaning of equipment and work according to schedule as planned by the Executive Chef.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe certification
  • Prior customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure

  • Regular Part Time - Scheduled less Than 30 at Least 22.5 Per Week
