About the Role
The McCarthy lab at the Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI) in Utica, NY is seeking a research assistant with synthetic chemistry experience to support research on materials for drug delivery and molecular imaging. These materials will be used to investigate diseases and identify new treatment options.
Responsibilities
- Synthesize compounds in support of the research program.
- Generate materials for distribution to collaborations nationwide.
- Analyze and identify compounds using modern separation and spectroscopic techniques.
- Maintain laboratory equipment.
Requirements
- Experience with multi-step organic syntheses.
- Familiarity with purification techniques, particularly HPLC.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
