About the Role

Base is seeking a Deployment Engineer to manage the operational aspects of launching new utility partnerships. This role involves defining deployment parameters, refining the process from deal signing to Permission to Operate (PTO), and serving as the technical liaison for utility partners during market launches.

Responsibilities

  • Build internal systems and operational procedures for large-scale battery deployment and partnership scaling.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for utility partners regarding deployment operations, including interconnection agreements, inspection coordination, and technical requirements for integration, installation, safety, and member outcomes.
  • Develop systems for data collection to drive continuous process and system improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems efficiently to minimize disruption.
  • Implement operational foundations, pipeline automations, and systems to scale new partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Base pipeline, marketing, and business operations teams to enhance partnership operations.
  • Manage daily pipeline health, including tracking aging deals, routing issues, making configuration changes, and maintaining CRM deal records.
  • Coordinate handoffs between field teams and partners to meet installation quotas, maintain service quality, and prevent scheduling conflicts.
  • Conduct deployment feasibility studies to identify operational challenges in new utility regions.
  • Define operational requirements collaboratively with utility teams to ensure consistency and mutual benefit for Base deployment operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in operations, program management, or partnerships roles involving multi-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with external partners and resolve process bottlenecks.
  • Experience developing processes and procedures for field work or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in owning a CRM as the system of record, ensuring data integrity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing numerous deals and approvals simultaneously.
  • Equivalent experience to a degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, or industrial engineering.
