About the Role

Responsible for the administration and support of security system software/hardware at the Enterprise, Mid-Range, or Desktop levels. This role ensures stable performance of relevant security hardware/software through monitoring and tuning, and performs capacity planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct technical support for all requirements in the planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to security system software and hardware.
  • Ensures stable performance of relevant security related hardware/software for the enterprise through performance monitoring and tuning and performs capacity planning.
  • Ensures system maintenance as well as high level support of the operating system and all the related security software and hardware components.
  • Plans and implements major software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.
  • Researches and evaluates products.
  • Designs and implements software.
  • Configures hardware.
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and documentation of software.
  • Conducts software upgrades and maintenance.
  • Security administration.
  • Provides technical support including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Network analysis, administration, and configuration.
  • Operating system, related software products, application and data backup and recovery.
  • Handles disaster recovery.
  • Performance analysis and tuning.
  • Capacity planning.
  • Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.

Requirements

  • Mastery knowledge in administration functions of primary security products.
  • Ability to integrate primary products into overall security program.
  • Mastery knowledge in access control systems.
  • Mastery knowledge in security models, principles and concepts.
  • Mastery knowledge in primary security products for monitoring performance & tuning.
  • Mastery knowledge in primary security products for installation & configuration.
  • Mastery knowledge in primary security products for implementing customizations.
  • Mastery knowledge in security scanning tools.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of networking.
  • Working knowledge of databases.
  • Working knowledge of browser technology.
  • Working knowledge of programming.
  • Working knowledge of IT general control processes.
  • Mastery skill in day to day issues: problem solving, change management, etc.
  • Working knowledge and expertise of General Project Management.
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
