About the Role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty. Designers meet with customers, understand their project needs, educate them on project requirements, and build a creative design concept incorporating the customer's personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads.
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent communication.
• Collaborate, partner, and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals.
• Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees.
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Skills

• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails are required.
• Understanding and utilizing design applications (e.g., Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject).

Salary/Compensations

• Minimum base pay from $15.24 per hour
