About the Role

Pet Place is seeking a Senior Director of Product to shape and execute a unified product vision across their animal health and wellness portfolio. This role drives product innovation for both DTC consumer experiences and B2B platforms for shelters, rescues, and veterinary professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate a clear, multi-year product strategy for PetPlace and 24Pet.
  • Lead roadmap creation for DTC experiences including content, wellness tools, digital services, pet parent engagement, and monetization.
  • Lead roadmap creation for B2B platforms supporting rescue, shelter, and veterinary workflows.
  • Prioritize innovation using customer insights, operational data, and industry trends.
  • Build and mentor a team of product leaders and UX designers.
  • Foster a collaborative, cross-functional culture.
  • Promote strong product practices blending human-centered design, data-driven decision-making, and scalable delivery.
  • Lead SAFe ceremonies across the portfolio, including PI Planning, solution-level syncs, and portfolio reviews.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business impact and build business cases for resource allocation.
  • Improve the organization’s agile maturity, predictability, and velocity.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of products supporting DTC pet parent journeys.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of B2B rescue, shelter, and veterinary software.
  • Define success metrics to measure outcomes such as improved shelter throughput and enhanced efficiency.
  • Ensure product releases uphold high standards of quality, security, accessibility, and user experience.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Customer Care, and Commercial teams.
  • Engage with shelters, rescue organizations, and veterinary partners to understand needs and validate product direction.
  • Communicate product plans, priorities, and progress to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 15+ years of product management experience.
  • At least 5 years in senior product leadership roles.
  • Proven success managing complex, multi-product portfolios in a matrixed environment.
  • Extensive experience operating and leading teams within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience serving both DTC users and B2B customer segments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, customer-centric mindset, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in animal health, pet tech, shelter/rescue operations, or veterinary software preferred.
  • SAFe certifications (SAFe SPC, SAFe LPM, SAFe POPM).
  • Background with operational software used by professional audiences.
  • Expertise in data-driven product development, behavioral analytics, or personalization.
