About the Role

The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and light maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience with diverse equipment, learning opportunities from subject matter experts, and a collaborative environment designed to develop technical skills and advance careers in facilities management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems.
  • Execute predictive, planned, preventative, and routine maintenance, equipment rounds, and service requests.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, SOPs, and operational procedures.
  • Control daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the physical plant and buildings.
  • Complete all tenant service requests accurately and expediently.
  • Maintain time and production records and customer service requests utilizing CMMS and other computer/technology tools.
  • Evaluate building systems to monitor and improve performance and operating efficiency.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality.
  • Participate in the on-call engineer rotation and respond to after-hours site emergencies.
  • Actively participate in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures, including safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform all work using proper safety equipment and in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience in commercial industry general building preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or Building Management System (BMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to work from heights and climb ladders up to 30 feet while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
  • Capability to work in adverse conditions (extreme cold, extreme hot).
  • Flexibility to work different schedules, including holidays and weekends.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
