About the Role
The QC Microbiologist performs quality control analysis, testing, and related functions within a Manufacturing QC Lab environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and safety of Sheffield Pharmaceuticals' wellness and first aid products.
Responsibilities
- Performing total aerobic microbial count, microbial limit testing, total combined molds and yeast count, and preparatory testing
- Maintenance and preparation of inoculums, antibiotic determination, environmental auditing, DI Water testing and stability testing
- Adhering to cGMP's and SOP's
- Performing quality control analysis on finished products, including stability testing, in-process goods, and incoming materials
- Routine, repetitive checking and testing of production product, including visual and sample inspections of parts used, weights and measures
- Inspecting filling equipment for various Q.C. aspects
- Maintaining proper documentation for filling quality control
- Assisting in experiments related to the discovery and development of new products
- Making pilot batches of experimental products
- Creating processing batch sheets from work orders and packaging batch records (PBR's)
- Checking artwork, crimp code, log sheets, and shipping requirements
- Preparing artwork ingredient lists
- Completing Certificate of Analysis for customer orders
- Sending letters and samples to outside contract laboratories
- Creating Bulk labeling stickers
- General electronic and hard copy file maintenance
- Maintaining records control and housekeeping
- Maintaining and updating the NS database and MSDS log
- Maintaining cleanliness and appearance of the department
- Maintaining proper liaison with all departments to contribute to team philosophy
- Following all safety regulations and complying with S.O.P.'s, DEP, EPA, OSHA, FDA, and cGMP's
- Performing other assigned tasks as necessary
- Following all Environmental and OSHA requirements
- Attending in-house training sessions
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Microbiology or Biology
- 2-5 years of experience preferred
- Associates Degree with additional experience will also be considered
- Minimum of one-year experience in an analytical or quality control laboratory preferred
