About the Role

The Graphic Designer (Work Study) plays a vital role in supporting the FSU's marketing and communication efforts by creating compelling visual content for print and digital platforms. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented student who is passionate about design and eager to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce a variety of marketing materials including posters, brochures, ads, flyers, newsletters, and digital graphics.
  • Prepare final artwork for print and digital use, ensuring all files meet production and platform specifications.
  • Maintain an organized digital archive of design projects.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team and attend creative meetings as required.
  • Ensure consistency with established FSU branding, style guides, and accessibility standards.
  • Support social media and experiential marketing initiatives through the development of visual content.
  • Represent the department at student events and activities in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned to support department goals.

Requirements

  • Must be a full-time Fanshawe College student approved for the Work Study program.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); experience on a Mac platform preferred.
  • Strong understanding of current design principles, tools, and production processes.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to receive and incorporate feedback.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable attendance and time management.
