About the Role
The Supervisor, Pre-Arrival Services will manage frontline staff and oversee the delivery of pre-arrival programs, ensuring objectives and outcomes are met. This role involves program management, assisting in new program development, and engaging with stakeholders to enhance the organization's position.
Responsibilities
- Supervise frontline staff, including goal setting, performance management, and professional development.
- Manage day-to-day program delivery activities and team operations, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Collect, analyze, and monitor statistical reports to ensure program targets are met, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Support data collection and prepare various reports for funders.
- Monitor data entry, quality, and integrity by staff.
- Manage budget lines and authorized expenditures within delegated limits.
- Produce oral and written reports on engagement, activity delivery, and new program development.
- Facilitate team decision-making and delegate action items.
- Collaborate with staff and management to ensure coordinated and efficient service delivery across all agency programs.
- Promote consistency in service delivery and sharing of resources across sites.
- Monitor and track the operation of cross-program referrals and shared resources.
- Maintain positive professional relationships and communication links with public and relevant stakeholders.
- Develop partnerships to enhance client services.
- Identify and develop new services and resources based on client needs.
- Handle additional tasks as required by the Senior Manager, Newcomer Services.
Requirements
- Team leadership and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of pre-arrival programs and labour market trends for newcomers.
- Sensitivity to issues and barriers faced by pre-arrival clients.
- Commitment to culturally sensitive service delivery within an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework.
- Good organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of initiative, risk management, time management, and problem-solving ability.
- Master level skills in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in data collection and analysis of pre-arrival trends and challenges.
- Ability to write detailed monthly and quarterly reports.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Experience in delivery of programs in nonprofit, government or social enterprise operations.
- A clear, mandatory vulnerable sector check.

Experience Level
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in pre-arrival programs within the settlement sector, or related program experience.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory role in a similar capacity within a non-profit, philanthropy or public-sector environment.
Education Level
- Diploma or an undergraduate degree in community development, social work, or other demonstrated experience as it relates to the role.
