About the Role
This is a sales position acting as the principal selling agent within an assigned territory to achieve short and long-term business objectives. Objectives will be met by discovering new customers and existing markets.
Responsibilities
- Performs sales calls, including traveling to customer facilities, providing information and support, making sales presentations, calculating prices, taking orders, and closing transactions.
- Calculates and quotes prices, takes orders, and closes transactions.
- Contacts prospects, explains product features and merits, and utilizes persuasive sales and negotiation techniques.
- Answers questions concerning products or services, with appropriate referrals.
- Monitors territory performance against objectives and takes action to improve performance.
- Provides customer service to ensure issue resolution within marketing policies.
- Communicates customer requirements and requests support from other departments.
- Provides product-specific customer feedback to assist in achieving company objectives.
- Assists in establishing sales objectives for the territory and ensures sales activities comply with policies.
- Stays informed of industry, product, economic, and territory changes that may impact sales.
- Provides timely reporting of field activities and special reports for business and product planning.
- Assists in developing a territory coverage plan defining support and customer contact frequency.
- Performs analysis on region opportunities and develops sales forecasts.
- Identifies additional activities, training, or materials necessary to achieve specific product sales goals.
- Responsible for identifying and continuously improving activities that can affect customer perception.
- Provides recommendations for expense budgets and manages business expenses.
- Ensures company-owned equipment, vehicles, documents, and materials are used, maintained, and stored according to policy.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of progressively responsible work-related experience.
- Combination of education and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s diverse business and product lines.
- May be required to lift and move up to 100lbs without lifting aids.
- Vision requirements are comparable to that which is required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
- 100% body movement is required, such as standing, reaching, climbing, and use of all major limbs.
