About the Role
GetYourGuide's Legal Team is seeking a privacy and tech legal professional to act as a trusted business partner, enabling and guarding the company while developing a deep understanding of the business and tech stack. This role involves owning core data protection workstreams, contributing to the legal team's AI tooling, and embedding compliance into products.
Responsibilities
- Own core data protection operations end to end, including Data Subject Requests, Records of Processing Activities, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and data retention.
- Set legal standards and provide oversight for privacy operational processes, working closely with business stakeholders.
- Review and negotiate SaaS, vendor, and AI tool agreements.
- Act as a trusted legal partner to key business teams, embedding privacy-by-design into product development and advising on AI features, new data flows, and high-impact processing activities.
- Track regulatory developments in data protection and AI, and translate them into actionable updates.
- Contribute to the legal team's process improvement and AI tooling work.
Requirements
- Full legal qualifications or alternative qualifications for in-house lawyers with excellent results.
- 3-5+ years of post-graduate work experience in an international law firm and/or in a tech company with substantial exposure to data privacy and tech law.
- Strong GDPR and data protection foundations across DPAs, DSARs, ROPA, DPIAs, and retention.
- Genuine interest in AI regulation and the legal implications of AI-powered products and internal tooling.
- A builder mindset - curious about using AI tools to improve legal processes and willing to contribute to internal tooling.
- Foundational knowledge of and affinity for tech and platform business.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- German is a strong plus.
