About the Role

The Lead Cleaner oversees the daily cleaning tasks of the cleaning/janitorial team, ensuring assigned areas like offices, commercial spaces, industrial spaces, or institutional buildings are kept clean and orderly. This role requires successful collaboration with fellow employees, clients, and all organizational levels, along with the ability to understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written, and explain task completion using basic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily cleaning tasks of the cleaning/janitorial team
• Keep assigned areas clean and orderly
• Work successfully with fellow employees, clients, and all levels of the organization
• Understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Solve minor cleaning issues
• Direct special cleaning projects
• Train new employees on cleaning procedures and chemicals
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Communicate with the team, co-workers, managers, and customers professionally
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support Cleaning Manager in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand reporting systems and the environment
• Stocking and inventorying supply closets
• Vacuuming
• Edging
• Dusting
• Cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms
• Window cleaning
• Emptying trash and transporting to proper disposal area
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Assist Cleaning Manager with day-to-day operations
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures
• Follow safety protocols
• Maintain environmental responsibility
• Uphold quality standards in all tasks
• Actively participate in HSEQ training
• Report any potential hazards or compliance concerns

Requirements

• 2+ years of commercial janitorial experience
• Understand that safety is a top priority and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Must be a team player
• Committed to working in a fast-paced, quality environment
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
• Adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures
• Follow safety protocols
• Maintain environmental responsibility
• Uphold quality standards in all tasks
• Actively participate in HSEQ training
