About the Role
The Product Quality Engineering Analyst is responsible for translating consumer expectations, brand standards, and regulatory requirements into product testing specifications, Acceptance Criteria (AC), and test plans to ensure consistent product quality and performance. This role leads risk-based test planning, coordinates third-party testing, and supports quality gates throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. The Analyst evaluates product performance through testing, benchmarking, and data analysis, providing recommendations on product approval and continuous improvement. They also lead failure investigations and corrective action processes (CAPA), incorporating customer feedback into improved testing criteria and product design. The role ensures all quality requirements, testing progress, and decisions are accurately documented and partners cross-functionally to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain product specifications, Acceptance Criteria (AC), and testing requirements.
- Build risk-based test plans and coordinate third-party lab testing, inspections, and validation activities.
- Act as a key contributor within the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
- Assess product quality through test results, benchmarking, and evaluations.
- Review vendor documentation including BOMs, specifications, and change requests.
- Investigate product failures and complaints, interpret test results, and drive vendor corrective action plans.
- Analyze customer reviews, returns, and post purchase data.
- Own and maintain accurate documentation, testing progress, failure assessments, and recommendations within quality systems.
- Partner with Merchandising, Product Development, Branding, Compliance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality requirements are embedded throughout product design, sourcing, launch, and maintained for existing products.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, product development, engineering, or related technical field.
- Strong consumer product and category knowledge with the ability to assess technical requirements and risks.
- Proven ability to interpret test results, specifications, and quality data to drive decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and vendor communication skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, consumer products, or retail quality environment.

- Our typical hiring range is between $65,000 and $75,000 CAD.
