About the Role

The Capacity Building team is seeking a practicum student to support the planning and coordination of educational programming activities, including live and virtual professional development events. The student will contribute to projects aligned with PHO’s Strategic Direction #3, focusing on advancing public health and health workforce capacity and knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and coordination of educational programming activities.
  • Support the team with projects associated with PHO’s Strategic Direction #3.
  • Apply project management and evaluation skills to support the planning and execution of educational programming and professional development offerings.
  • Analyze and assess evaluation findings and collaboratively develop reports to inform strategic planning.
  • Contribute to the development of hands-on learning experiences and educational programming offered by PHO.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Host virtual events via Zoom.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program requiring an experiential learning/practicum component.
  • Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in, and familiarity with, evaluation projects, program planning, educational programming, and/or events hosting.
  • Attention to detail and strong English communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
  • Computer proficiency including O365 products (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong collaboration skills and interest in working with and across different teams.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an academic program where a practicum placement is required.
  • Must be currently residing in Ontario and attending a Canadian academic institution.
