About the Role
Santa Monica Seafood is seeking a Culinary Outside Sales Representative in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is ideal for culinary professionals who want to leverage their expertise in seafood sourcing, menu development, costing, and quality to assist restaurant clients. The position offers a competitive base salary and the opportunity to transition to an unlimited commission structure.
Responsibilities
- Research new sales opportunities by visiting existing and prospecting new customers.
- Analyze customer business opportunities within identified vertical markets.
- Develop and deliver professional sales presentations to close deals.
- Provide menu ideas and food costing analysis.
- Maintain order guides and pricing files through product and customer analysis.
- Stay informed about new products and relevant customer information.
- Participate in developing long and short-range sales and marketing plans.
- Conduct training sessions for key clients and their staff.
- Develop marketing and advertising strategies for restaurant clients.
- Meet monthly sales and margin objectives and annual sales budgets.
Requirements
- Foodservice sales background (distributor, manufacturer, broker), seafood industry preferred.
- Culinary background preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or related experience.
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
- Proficiency in Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, or other languages is strongly preferred.
