About the Role
Isaac is building a Learning & Development function to scale with the company. This role will shape how people are developed, owning the end-to-end arc of learning from content to delivery methods and leadership development. It is a build role, not a maintain role, and the senior leader for people development at Isaac.
Responsibilities
- Own what great learning looks like at Isaac across the full breadth of how people develop, including live training, self-paced content, coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job learning.
- Make development and learning at Isaac a defining part of the culture, attracting talent and differentiating the company through employee quality.
- Design an integrated development ecosystem where on-the-job experiences, formal learning, coaching, mentoring, talent assessments, and career development accelerate growth.
- Lead the design and build of Isaac’s Leadership Academy, a multi-level program with external partners to advance leadership skills from early career through to Partner.
- Own the technical operational training by level from induction through to Principal, evolving content as the business changes.
- Own the manager capability agenda, defining expectations for development conversations, feedback, and team growth, and embedding these into leadership practices.
- Shape the leadership capability definition and metrics to signal system effectiveness.
- Partner with senior leaders to translate the competency framework into behavior descriptors, learning experiences, and development reps that shift employee behavior.
- Bring an external, evidence-based view of organizational learning, identifying effective practices and innovations relevant to Isaac's culture.
- Explore and introduce innovative learning approaches, leveraging new technologies, AI, and emerging practices for engaging development experiences.
- Engage external partners and academic faculty where beneficial, and build internal facilitation capability over time.
- Lead and develop the L&D team, building a strong group across systems, execution, leadership development specialists, and FO Sector Dev Leads.
- Operate as a senior member of the People Team leadership group, contributing to strategy and partnering with the VP P&C.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in organizational learning, understanding adult development in professional services and designing for it.
- Formal grounding in learning science, instructional design, organizational psychology, adult development, or a related discipline through academic training or significant practitioner work.
- Significant experience leading the learning and development function in a serious organization (corporate, professional services, or scale-up) with ownership of development design, not just training delivery.
- A track record of designing leadership development programs that demonstrably shifted behavior, with supporting evidence (manager feedback, leader effectiveness measures, retention outcomes).
- Experience operating as a peer alongside senior business leaders, credible in strategic conversations and accustomed to being challenged.
- Hands-on experience building from scratch, including competency frameworks, faculty models, measurement approaches, and content libraries.
- Practical experience with the full blended-learning palette (live training, self-paced digital, coaching, mentoring, on-the-job learning) and a clear point of view on their integration.
- A formed view on AI in development, ideally with practical project experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, maintaining a high standard across decks, frameworks, and sessions.
