About the Role
CVP is seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist to provide comprehensive MRI imaging services for Veterans at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, utilizing advanced MRI technology for critical diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex MRI examinations using advanced imaging protocols and safety procedures.
- Set up MRI rooms ensuring sterile supplies, materials, and equipment are properly arranged while maintaining strict MRI safety protocols.
- Operate MRI equipment using appropriate technical parameters and established protocols with a thorough understanding of MRI safety requirements.
- Screen patients for MRI safety contraindications, verify identity, explain procedures, and ensure patient safety throughout examinations.
- Archive and document procedures with proper image annotation, evaluation, and quality assessment for optimal diagnostic interpretation.
- Send daily start/end time and workload emails to the designated VA address and maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Health Records.
Requirements
- Completion of a full-time training program in diagnostic radiologic technology from a JRCERT-accredited program.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (renewed every 2 years).
- Comprehensive knowledge of MRI safety protocols and contraindications.
- Understanding of magnetic resonance physics and imaging principles.
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology.
- Strong patient care and communication skills with the ability to work with claustrophobic patients.
- Ability to work independently and respond to emergency situations.
- Physical ability to assist patients and operate complex MRI equipment.
- US Citizenship required for background investigation.
