About the Role

CVP is seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist to provide comprehensive MRI imaging services for Veterans at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, utilizing advanced MRI technology for critical diagnostic imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex MRI examinations using advanced imaging protocols and safety procedures.
  • Set up MRI rooms ensuring sterile supplies, materials, and equipment are properly arranged while maintaining strict MRI safety protocols.
  • Operate MRI equipment using appropriate technical parameters and established protocols with a thorough understanding of MRI safety requirements.
  • Screen patients for MRI safety contraindications, verify identity, explain procedures, and ensure patient safety throughout examinations.
  • Archive and document procedures with proper image annotation, evaluation, and quality assessment for optimal diagnostic interpretation.
  • Send daily start/end time and workload emails to the designated VA address and maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Health Records.

Requirements

  • Completion of a full-time training program in diagnostic radiologic technology from a JRCERT-accredited program.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (renewed every 2 years).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MRI safety protocols and contraindications.
  • Understanding of magnetic resonance physics and imaging principles.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Strong patient care and communication skills with the ability to work with claustrophobic patients.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to emergency situations.
  • Physical ability to assist patients and operate complex MRI equipment.
  • US Citizenship required for background investigation.
