About the Role
The Porter position will ensure that all community property grounds are clean on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- Remove litter and debris daily from all areas of the property (pool area, laundry rooms, dumpster area, recreation areas, general grounds, and walkways to, from and in between buildings)
- Trash out vacated apartments (remove abandoned furniture, trash, boxes, etc.)
- Assist with various physical tasks (e.g., tearing down fences, digging trenches, etc.)
- Assist with make-readies
- Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of storage rooms
- Distribute resident communications
- Maintain awareness of utility meter cut-offs, sewer clean-outs, and safety precautions
- Repair and adjust sprinklers
Requirements
- To work at other Foundation Communities properties in the Austin area as needed
- Ability to understand English
- An occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials can be expected.
- May be asked to clean up bodily fluids with appropriate training and personal protective equipment provided.
- CONSTANTLY: standing/walking, bending/stooping/squatting, pushing/pulling, grasping/gripping, reaching above the shoulder, climbing, lifting between 0 and 25 pounds.
- FREQUENTLY: coordination of hand/eye/foot, finger dexterity, lifting between 26 and 50 pounds.
- May be required to provide coverage/help at other supportive housing communities as needed.
