About the Role

The intern will assist financial analysts in preparing financial analyses and calculations for tax-exempt bond financings, ensuring compliance with federal tax laws. Projects include arbitrage analysis, financial model development, yield calculations, and preparing reports for governmental clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist analysts in preparing financial analyses and calculations relating to tax-exempt bond financings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Gather historical investment information for arbitrage projects.
  • Analyze investment information using spreadsheet models to determine investment returns and federal tax compliance.
  • Assist in preparing arbitrage reports, including assumptions, methodologies, and calculations.
  • Assist in the development of financial models.
  • Prepare yield calculations.
  • Prepare loan amortization schedules.
  • Perform complex allocation analyses.
  • Conduct swap/hedge analysis.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and marketing materials.
  • Conduct research.

Requirements

  • Student enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program.
  • Knowledge of fixed income securities.
  • Knowledge of general market principals.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
