About the Role
The intern will assist financial analysts in preparing financial analyses and calculations for tax-exempt bond financings, ensuring compliance with federal tax laws. Projects include arbitrage analysis, financial model development, yield calculations, and preparing reports for governmental clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist analysts in preparing financial analyses and calculations relating to tax-exempt bond financings.
- Ensure compliance with federal tax laws and regulations.
- Gather historical investment information for arbitrage projects.
- Analyze investment information using spreadsheet models to determine investment returns and federal tax compliance.
- Assist in preparing arbitrage reports, including assumptions, methodologies, and calculations.
- Assist in the development of financial models.
- Prepare yield calculations.
- Prepare loan amortization schedules.
- Perform complex allocation analyses.
- Conduct swap/hedge analysis.
- Assist in preparing presentations and marketing materials.
- Conduct research.
Requirements
- Student enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program.
- Knowledge of fixed income securities.
- Knowledge of general market principals.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications.
- Knowledge of accounting principles.
