About the Role
The Rigger uses mechanical and power tools to install and connect motors and accessories on boats or ATVs according to factory specifications or work order details. This role supports world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Rig boat packages per factory specifications.
- Rig boat packages as specified on work orders.
- Notify Service Manager of unacceptable manufacturer-received units, units with problems needing additional work, or when customer requests may not be possible or may cause a safety issue.
- Work efficiently to maintain service schedules.
- Prepare loose motors or trailers for customer delivery.
- Test each unit for proper and safe operation using established marine service procedures.
- Follow work order procedures for requesting and obtaining parts, performing labor, and completing paperwork.
- Request parts or perform labor not listed on the work order.
- Compile warranty packages per the outlined process for every unit.
- Complete rigging checklists and assist with the inspection process for each unit.
- Install optional equipment and/or accessories as per customer's request.
- Maintain a clean and professional work area.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent experience.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
- Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation.
- Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems.
- Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments.
- Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
Skills
- Ability to deal with electrical systems and wiring when assembling engines and connecting all electrical/remote control attachments to a boat or ATV.
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to customers and other associates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, coworkers, and customers.
