About the Role

RapidFire Safety & Security is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Technician for its Austin branch. This role involves providing high-quality customer support through on-site service, installation, inspection, repairing, and replacement of fire alarm equipment, including preventive maintenance for various manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 standards.
• Test and inspect fire alarm systems for compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance on fire alarm systems, including testing, cleaning, and repairing components.
• Collaborate with construction teams to integrate fire alarm systems into building designs.
• Provide technical support and training to team members on fire alarm systems.
• Respond promptly to service calls and resolve issues professionally.
• Stay updated on the latest fire alarm technologies and safety regulations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a similar construction industry role.
• Extensive knowledge of fire alarm systems, including Silent Knight and Fire-Lite.
• Proficiency in NFPA 72 and relevant safety regulations.
• Strong skills in low voltage electrical wiring.
• Experience with installation, programming, and troubleshooting of security and fire alarms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Ability to spend prolonged periods standing, sitting, or walking.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to wear safety attire.
• Capability to work in noisy environments.
• Requires ability to manipulate tools, components, and materials.
• Ability to work in high or elevated places and/or in tight spaces.
• Capable of working on ladders, aerial lifts, and elevated platforms.
• Knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, controls, and their interdependencies.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and system logs.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
