About the Role
Ode is building a lasting engineering brand and is seeking its first Developer Relations Engineer to join the team. This role involves translating the engineering team's work into content and community presence that resonates with other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Write and publish technical content, including blog posts, project teardowns, and Hacker News writeups.
- Build Ode's presence on platforms frequented by engineers, such as Hacker News, technical podcasts, conferences, and niche communities.
- Manage high-signal community interactions like dinners, workshops, and small events.
- Drive open source contributions and external projects that showcase Ode's engineering capabilities.
- Develop partnerships with complementary technical brands through co-sponsorships, co-publishing, and community cross-pollination.
- Provide feedback to engineering leadership on practitioner sentiment, excitement, skepticism, and future trends.
Requirements
- Strong engineering foundation with experience shipping software and a deep understanding of system design.
- Ability to engage in credible technical conversations with senior engineers about AI architecture, eval design, and production tradeoffs.
- Exceptional writing skills with clarity and specificity, capable of producing content engineers read and share.
- A keen sense for what resonates technically within the developer community, understanding credibility versus hype.
- High ownership mindset, willing to take initiative and shape strategy and culture.
- Low ego and high integrity, with a collaborative approach to helping and asking for help.
