About the Role

Community Federal Savings Bank (CFSB) is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Assistant Vice President (AVP) to serve as FIU Analytics & Reporting Lead within the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in the Compliance department. This individual will be responsible for building and managing the FIU’s reporting capabilities, conducting data mining and analysis to support complex investigations, and performing manual monitoring for product-specific needs. The role leverages SQL, Python, and related data tools to transform large datasets into actionable insights and will support the implementation of the Sardine platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain recurring and on-demand reporting for the FIU, including operational, production, and risk-based metrics.
  • Manage the FIU’s reporting suite end to end, ensuring reports are accurate, timely, well-documented, and aligned to stakeholder needs.
  • Automate manual reporting processes using SQL, Python, and related tools to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualizations for FIU leadership and partners.
  • Conduct data mining and analysis across large, complex datasets to support investigations, identifying linkages, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Partner with investigators and Team Leads to scope analytical requests, extract data, and deliver clear findings.
  • Build repeatable queries and analytical routines for recurring investigative, lookback, and remediation needs.
  • Perform manual monitoring and surveillance for product-specific needs not fully addressed by automated systems.
  • Analyze transaction activity to identify emerging typologies, risks, and gaps in monitoring coverage.
  • Recommend enhancements to monitoring rules, thresholds, and segmentation based on data-driven analysis.
  • Help inform reporting and transaction monitoring requirements for the Bank’s Sardine implementation.
  • Support testing, tuning, and validation activities for the Sardine platform.
  • Collaborate with technology, compliance, and vendor partners to ensure data feeds, mappings, and outputs meet FIU needs.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data analytics and insights from FIU leadership, Compliance, and business partners.
  • Translate analytical results into clear narratives and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support audit and regulatory examination requests involving data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
  • Stay current on AML/BSA regulatory requirements, typologies, and analytics best practices.
