About the Role
Four Winds Hospital is seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager to lead the Patient Accounts team, overseeing Accounts Receivable from charge generation to claim submission and collections. This role is responsible for tracking KPIs, reducing claim denials, and ensuring compliance to maximize net revenue.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete billing lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely charge entry, claim processing, and payment reconciliation.
- Complete month-end closing processes to generate general ledger revenue journal.
- Manage internal and external collection efforts.
- Track denials, resolve unbilled claims, and execute strategies to keep A/R aging metrics within industry benchmarks.
- Manage, motivate and mentor Patient Accounts Representatives across 2 locations.
- Partner with Managed Care to maintain current payer fee tables and resolve authorization issues.
- Monitor KPIs, identify revenue loss trends, monitor and report on bad debt write offs, and present detailed reports to senior management.
- Enforce regulatory compliance, ensure medical coding accuracy, and adapt policies to changing payer and government mandates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in medical billing.
- At least 2 years of experience managing staff.
- Deep understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding, commercial insurance policies, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and EHR/billing platforms (MyAvatar preferred).
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
- Understanding of accounting fundamentals.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities for cross-functional collaboration and patient engagement.
