About the Role
This position is in Cargill's Food Enterprise, which serves food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with innovative ingredients and branded products. The role involves operating and maintaining milling, screening, conveyance, and food-grade equipment in a rigorous environment, ensuring process quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including personnel, environmental, and food safety standards.
- Operate and make decisions for milling, screening, conveyance, and food-grade equipment.
- Responsible for process quality and productivity using HMI and control systems.
- Operate mobile powered equipment (e.g., forklift or hoists) to move product or additives.
- Use hand and power tools for preventative and autonomous maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Support other operators in troubleshooting and providing guidance.
- Monitor equipment, operate controls, process samples, and adjust machine processes using selectivity and complex decision-making.
- Utilize computer systems to input and record data and support others.
- Set up and operate control systems or a series of machines requiring interaction of moderate to complex variables.
- Assist in the review, creation, and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide peers with guidance, coaching, and training for continuous improvement of facility operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).
- Basic use of a computer.
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, loud noise) with PPE.
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
- Ability to perform physical job duties including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice.
