About the Role
As a temporary, on-call delivery agent, you will be the face of Canada Post in your community, ensuring customers and businesses receive their mail and parcels. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy being active outdoors and want to contribute to a national company serving fellow Canadians.
Responsibilities
- Sort and prepare daily deliveries at the depot.
- Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
- Deliver mail and packages by foot or vehicle to customers on assigned routes.
- Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages for future delivery.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required).
- Demonstrate the physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Availability to be on-call and work in all of CBRM.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and/or French.
Skills
- Customer service experience.
- Delivery or driving experience.
- Ability to walk an average of 15-25 kms per day.
