About the Role

As a temporary on-call delivery agent (also called a letter carrier), you will represent Canada Post in your community and ensure individuals and businesses receive the mail and parcels they expect. You enjoy working outdoors and being active year-round, want to work for a large national company, and would be proud to serve your fellow citizens.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prepare mail for delivery.
• Load and drive a postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and parcels to customers on foot or by vehicle.
• Unload incoming mail and parcels for future delivery.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Class 5 or G driver's license with a good driving record for at least three years.
• Ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Must be available on-call and work within the entire regional municipality of Cape Breton.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English or French.

Skills

• Customer service experience.
• Delivery or driver experience.
• Ability to walk an average of 15 to 25 km per day.
