About the Role
The Insurance Client Strategy Team partners with various internal teams to service and support existing insurance clients and develop new business. This role combines relationship management, client service, and new business development responsibilities, aiming to grow relationships within the institutional insurance business, specifically focusing on general account assets.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of insurance company clients.
- Build trusted relationships across client organizations.
- Develop a deep understanding of each client's investment objectives, business priorities, and strategic goals.
- Lead regular client engagement activities, including portfolio reviews and investment updates.
- Anticipate client needs and coordinate timely responses to inquiries.
- Monitor relationship health and identify opportunities to enhance client engagement.
- Develop and maintain client coverage plans for assigned relationships.
- Partner with investment teams to align client objectives with investment solutions.
- Coordinate firm-wide resources to deliver proactive solutions for clients.
- Prepare investment, business, and relationship reviews.
- Maintain awareness of industry, market, accounting, regulatory, and competitive developments.
- Partner with senior advisors on strategic business development initiatives.
- Participate in all phases of the new business lifecycle.
- Support RFPs, due diligence meetings, and proposal development.
- Attend client and prospect meetings.
- Maintain and advance opportunity pipelines.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships.
- Serve as the central coordinator across portfolio management, client reporting, operations, accounting, legal, and compliance teams.
- Drive accountability and execution on client-related initiatives.
- Ensure the timely delivery of reporting, analytics, and client commitments.
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance client service quality.
- Share market intelligence, client feedback, and industry developments with internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in asset management, insurance investing, institutional relationship management, client coverage, consulting, capital markets, or related financial services roles.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with institutional investors or sophisticated financial clients.
- Strong understanding of fixed income and multi-asset investing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Strong commercial mindset with an interest in client development and business growth.
- Strong fluency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience supporting insurance company general account assets.
- Knowledge of insurance investing, statutory accounting, regulatory considerations, and insurance balance sheets.
- Experience supporting RFPs, business development initiatives, or institutional sales processes.
- CFA, CAIA, MBA, or progress toward a professional designation.
