About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Systems role is within the Devices Mechanical Engineering team, focusing on designing components and subsystems that deliver pressurised air for treating sleep apnoea and other respiratory conditions. This position involves developing innovative products from concept to production to improve health outcomes globally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop components, considering design impacts on product performance, manufacturability, and end-user experience.
  • Understand and apply design requirements related to patients, customers, usability, accessibility, therapy performance, environmental factors, cost, quality, and design for manufacture and assembly.
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams, including industrial designers and engineers from various disciplines.
  • Build and evaluate prototypes using techniques like additive manufacturing and hands-on fabrication.
  • Design and conduct testing, including verification and validation, to ensure designs meet requirements.
  • Solve design problems using scientific analysis, simulation tools, and empirical methods.
  • Create and maintain accurate design and testing documentation.
  • Communicate progress, technical challenges, and risks proactively to team members and stakeholders.
  • Participate in risk management activities, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating design risks (e.g., DFMEA).
  • Work within the company's Quality Management System and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Actively develop technical skills, apply engineering best practices, and share learnings to enhance team capability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of industry experience.
  • A curious, innovative, and analytical mind.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modelling (Creo preferred, but any CAD package experience is acceptable).
