Responsibilities
- Teaching a rigorous college preparatory curriculum aligned with school and New York State standards.
- Delivering high-quality and engaging instruction.
- Committing to continuous professional and personal growth through teamwork.
- Utilizing data to inform instructional decisions.
- Continuously assessing student progress and communicating results to families and colleagues.
- Providing individualized or small group instruction to students needing extra support.
- Exhibiting a 'whatever it takes' attitude to ensure student success.
- Modeling school values in all interactions with students, families, and staff.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills conducive to a collaborative environment.
- Possession of character traits such as zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
- At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- A passion for contributing to a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.
- A strong desire for professional development within the KIPP NYC team.
- Demonstrated success in improving student achievement levels for the communities KIPP NYC serves.
- Must notify HR of any relocation or plans to relocate outside of a commutable distance or out of New York State.
- Must not require visa sponsorship or work authorization.
