About the Role
Support the installation team by assisting with basic physical installation tasks, material handling, and site preparation while developing foundational AV installation skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with cable pulling, routing, dressing, and labeling under supervision.
- Support installation and pre-fabrication tasks of equipment (mounts, displays, speakers, racks building) as directed.
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for daily tasks and upcoming work.
- Receive, verify, and log incoming equipment and materials against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support documentation tasks including printing drawings, labels, staging packages, logging site changes, and reporting updates to the Installer/Technician.
- Assist with basic equipment testing, verification, and RMA process logistics (packing, tracking, returns).
- Participate in site mobilization and equipment disposal activities.
- Adhere to company standards, safety protocols, and AV best practices.
- Responsible for daily individual time billing.
- Develop professional site conduct including interaction with clients, GCs, and other trades.
- Learn to read and interpret basic drawing packages and signal flow.
- Develop proficiency with hand and power tools, cable types, terminations, AV system components and AV industry terminology.
- Progress toward independent execution of basic installation tasks.
- Own individual development by staying engaged with training resources, seeking guidance when needed, and continuously building skills aligned with the Installer career path.
- Support the broader team by applying and expanding skills beyond core responsibilities as project and business needs evolve.
Requirements
- G class License
- Personal vehicle for daily travel between client sites
- Proof of Insurance
- Work hours and locations to be altered as necessary based on client requirements
- Travel to various jobsites and locations required
- Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders
- Willingness to obtain Working at height training
- Basic tool kit (entry-level, with guidance on required tools)
- Participation in onboarding and continuing education curriculum
- Clearances as required
- Eligible for advancement to Installer when able to complete standard installation tasks independently and accurately with minimal supervision
- Eligible to work in Canada
