About the Role

As Host / Hostess at Théodor, you are the first and last impression of the restaurant. You welcome guests, manage reservations, and support a smooth flow between arrival, seating, and departure, ensuring guests feel expected, recognized, and well looked after. This role requires a restaurateur at heart, who is present on the floor, attentive to the room, and ready to support the service team when needed.

• Support the service team when needed, including helping with plates, trays, mise en place, or guest requests.
• Manage bookings, walk-ins, waiting times, and table allocation with structure and care.
• Support the service team on the floor, including carrying plates, trays, and assisting with table flow.
• Handle guest requests, changes, and pressure with patience and discretion.

Requirements

• Previous experience as Host / Hostess, Receptionist, or in a guest-facing restaurant role.
• Restaurant experience is a strong plus.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and the rhythm of a busy restaurant.
• Confident and warm communication with guests, both in person and by phone.
• Experience with reservation systems, ideally SevenRooms or a similar platform.
• Ability to manage bookings, walk-ins, waiting times and table allocation with structure and care.
• Willingness and ability to support the service team on the floor, including carrying plates, trays and assisting with table flow.
• Strong sense for guest flow, timing and the atmosphere of the room.
• Calm, friendly and solution-oriented approach during busy services.
• Professional appearance and natural confidence when welcoming guests.
• Clear communication with Restaurant Management, service team and bar.
• Ability to handle guest requests, changes and pressure with patience and discretion.
• Good spoken German and English; further languages are a plus.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility.
