About the Role
Costello Medical is expanding its Medical Communications team and seeks a Senior Medical Writer to deliver high-quality content, manage projects, and build client relationships. This role involves strategic input, project oversight, quality control, and contributing to business development.
Responsibilities
- Lead diverse Medical Communications projects within a skilled project team.
- Deliver high-quality work to clients.
- Review junior colleagues’ work for accuracy and quality.
- Plan and oversee projects.
- Provide strategic input at project initiation.
- Oversee project delivery.
- Maintain regular communication with clients.
- Contribute to business development by building and sustaining strong client relationships.
- Identify opportunities to extend or enhance services within existing projects.
- Take on greater responsibility for client management, including budgeting and project finances.
- Line management of interns within your team.
Requirements
- Typically at least two years’ professional experience within an agency setting.
- Experience in delivery of medical communications projects (publications, medical affairs, or both).
- Experience communicating directly with clients.
- Experience in day-to-day leadership of project teams, including delegating tasks and managing time.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high degree of written accuracy.
- Excellent proficiency in written English and arithmetic.
- Strong scientific writing skills with the ability to tailor writing style to different audiences.
- Project management skills sufficient to enable timely project delivery.
- Excellent data presentation skills, including effective use of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Sufficient technical and strategic knowledge to provide clients with recommendations on project content and approach.
- Capacity to maintain exceptional customer service and quality of deliverables under multiple competing demands.
- Proven ability to build robust and sustainable client relationships.
- Ability to motivate colleagues and take a leading role in the delivery of project components.
- Submit CV and cover letter explaining suitability and interest, with examples.
- CV should clearly state dates of all qualifications and grades achieved.
