About the Role
The strategic assessment team provides unique insights into financial crime threats facing the FCA and regulated populations. This role involves conducting all-source analysis to identify emerging threats, risks, and vulnerabilities, providing robust recommendations to internal stakeholders to mitigate harm.
Responsibilities
- Conduct strategic analysis and horizon scanning across the financial crime landscape to support senior leader decision-making
- Synthesize and summarize intelligence from diverse sources to identify emerging threats, risks, and vulnerabilities
- Build and maintain proactive relationships with the analytical community and collaborate on multi-agency threat assessments
- Gather all-source intelligence to detect financial crime threats including money laundering, fraud, sanctions evasion, and AI-related risks
- Develop and deliver strategic assessments and intelligence reports tailored to internal and external stakeholder requirements
- Produce high-quality analytical products using appropriate communication methods for diverse audiences
- Contribute to a supportive team environment through peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and the development of analytical techniques
Requirements
- Demonstrable ability to analyze complex intelligence and data to draw evidence-based conclusions
- Secure understanding of applying the PHIA Common Analytical Standards
- Prior experience in the financial services sector or UK Economic Crime landscape
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages
- Experience managing internal stakeholder and external partner relationships
- Ability to work independently, manage conflicting priorities, and deliver results on time
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Demonstrable application of National Intelligence Model principles and information sharing frameworks
- Solid understanding of UK Government, Law Enforcement, Regulatory, and private sector structures
- Must hold or be able to obtain SC Clearance, with a goal to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) level clearance
