About the Role
The Process Intelligence Analyst plays a hands-on role in optimizing the flow of articles through our publishing pipeline to reduce turnaround times (TATs), enhance author experience, and support broader business objectives. This role combines business intelligence, process mining, and data analysis to drive informed decision-making and change management.
Responsibilities
- Analyze publishing workflows using data from Looker, Google BigQuery, and other BI tools to generate meaningful insights.
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks to recommend actionable improvements.
- Assist in defining and refining KPIs, data definitions, and reporting frameworks.
- Create process maps and visualizations to support change initiatives.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects to optimize publication pipelines.
- Support data-informed change and adoption of analytics frameworks.
- Assist with stakeholder alignment across Editorial, Production, Technology, and Operations.
- Explore automation and AI-driven solutions with Product and Tech teams.
- Support workflow enhancement proposals to reduce manual effort and errors.
- Monitor the performance impact of implemented changes and suggest refinements.
- Present complex data insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Liaise with Editorial, Publishing Performance, Operations, and Technology teams to align priorities.
- Ensure reporting frameworks are transparent, scalable, and actionable.
Requirements
- Demonstrable years of experience in data science, data analysis, process intelligence, BI, program/project management, or performance optimization.
- Demonstrated contributions to improvements in publishing, consulting, tech, or related fields.
- Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with editorial and production workflows in publishing or content-driven environment.
- Proficient in analyzing publishing performance metrics, identifying patterns, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
- Expertise in tools such as Looker, Google BigQuery, Tableau, or PowerBI.
- Skilled in process modeling, task mining, and identifying performance bottlenecks.
- Knowledge of business process management (BPM) and improvement frameworks.
- Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and stakeholder alignment.
- Familiarity with Agile, Lean, Six Sigma methodologies.
- Emerging project leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to track performance and value of processes after changes are implemented.
- Support iterative adjustments based on performance data.
- Skilled in communicating complex data insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong ability to liaise with Editorial, Operations, and Technology teams.
- Comfortable presenting insights, dashboards, and recommendations to senior leadership.
