About the Role

The Reporting Director is responsible for leading the Reporting & Visualisation function, setting the strategic direction for reporting, data visualisation, and insight delivery across the business. This role combines strategic leadership, operational management, and technical expertise to ensure the delivery of best-in-class reporting solutions that enable data-driven decision-making for clients and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Reporting & Visualisation team, creating a high-performing culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and implement the strategic vision and roadmap for reporting and visualisation, ensuring alignment with broader business and client objectives.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of reporting frameworks, dashboards, and visualisation solutions that provide meaningful insights and support decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain best practices, governance, and standards across reporting, data visualisation, and insight delivery.
  • Drive innovation and continuous enhancement of reporting capabilities, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
  • Own the financial and operational performance of the Reporting & Visualisation function, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives and business targets.
  • Determine the appropriate team structure, resource allocation, and capability requirements to deliver high-quality solutions at scale.
  • Develop and implement training, coaching, and development plans to build technical expertise and leadership capability within the team.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top talent, ensuring the function is equipped to meet evolving client and business demands.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Analytics, Media, Strategy, Data Science, and Technology teams to deliver integrated and insight-led solutions.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for reporting and visualisation matters, providing strategic guidance and expertise to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure reporting outputs effectively communicate performance, trends, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
  • Support business development activities by showcasing reporting and visualisation capabilities in pitches, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Promote the Reporting & Visualisation function internally and externally, raising awareness of capabilities and driving opportunities for growth.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in analytics, reporting, and data visualisation, ensuring the function remains at the forefront of innovation.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading reporting, business intelligence, analytics, or data visualisation teams.
  • Strong expertise in reporting strategy, dashboard development, data visualisation, and insight generation.
  • Proven experience managing high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
  • Experience working within a media, marketing, digital, consulting, or data-driven environment is preferred.
  • Commercially minded, with experience managing budgets, resources, and business performance metrics.
