About the Role
GE Grid Solutions is electrifying the world with advanced grid technologies and aims to accelerate the transition to a more energy-efficient grid. The Project Risk Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the risk management approach for an HVDC offshore project.
Responsibilities
- Lead the facilitation of the risk management process, including identification, assessment, and proactive management of risks (threats and opportunities).
- Ensure risk data is kept up-to-date and adheres to industry best practices per ISO 31000:2018 standards.
- Engage the project team in risk management requirements and establish a risk management culture.
- Develop Risk Management Plans, maintain risk registers, and prepare risk reports and analyses to support management decision-making.
- Automate and increase efficiency in risk management processes, tools, and templates.
- Lead risk workshops with project teams, partners, and clients.
- Integrate Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) for Cost and Schedule into the project, assisting management in interpreting results and making decisions.
- Ensure consistency of approach and knowledge sharing across projects.
Requirements
- Previous experience with large & complex engineering-focused projects (major infrastructure, rail, highways, oil & gas, nuclear).
- Previous experience in consultancy environments.
- Proficiency in Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis (QCSRA).
- Expertise with industry tools such as @risk, Safran, ARM, Xactium.
- Broad and diverse background in areas such as Project Management, Statistics, Economics, Business Management, Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical), or Data analytics.
- Ability and interest to deep dive into complex analytical issues.
- Competencies equivalent to PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional).
- Mastery of MS Office tools (e.g., Excel) for analytics.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally/internationally (around 30%).
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- German language skills are an advantage.
