About the Role
The Asset Allocation department is responsible for the overall portfolio management of KENFO. This includes portfolio allocation over the long-term investment horizon within the framework of strategic asset allocation (SAA), as well as ongoing adjustment of portfolio positioning based on a medium-term or cyclical investment perspective.
Responsibilities
- Analyze medium and long-term market developments and derive expectations for the return and risk profile of asset classes and potentially sectors.
- Create ad-hoc analyses and scenarios on current market topics.
- Develop the framework for medium-term, market-oriented adjustments to portfolio positioning.
- Propose concrete ideas for portfolio positioning, including overweighting or underweighting asset classes, adjusting benchmarks, or including previously uninvested market segments.
- Develop and update capital market models as a basis for decision-making in SAA and DAA.
- Actively exchange information with other market participants (internal and external) regarding their market views.
- Contribute to the monitoring and analysis of the overall portfolio in collaboration with investment controlling.
- Engage in special topics and cross-departmental processes and projects.
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree (Diploma/Master) in economics (e.g., economics, business administration, financial mathematics, econometrics, or comparable), alternatively mathematics, engineering, or natural sciences, ideally with additional economic qualifications (CFA).
- Several years (min. 5 years) of professional experience in asset allocation, multi-asset, investment strategy, or research, e.g., with an institutional capital investor or in investment banking.
- Proven experience in fundamental analysis of common asset classes and macro/microeconomic drivers of broad capital market development.
- Very good ability to support analyses with data and models.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office and market information systems (especially Bloomberg).
- Potentially programming skills (Python) and proficient use of AI tools.
- Languages: German (min. B2 level) and English (fluent).
- Independent and results-oriented way of working.
- Good balance between quality standards and a pragmatic approach.
- Strong interest in current capital market developments.
- Enjoy thinking in scenarios and connecting dots across asset classes.
- Strong team player.
- Willingness and ability to communicate analysis results.
