About the Role

Join our Global Regulatory & Controls Technology team and help shape the future of regulatory reporting and compliance technology across international financial markets. You'll work at the forefront of cloud-native engineering, real-time data processing, and event-driven architecture, developing platforms that are critical to the bank's regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions. This is an opportunity to engineer innovative solutions that process high-volume transaction and market data in real time, leveraging modern technologies including Kubernetes, microservices, event streaming, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

Designing and developing real-time, message-driven microservices and data platforms
Building scalable cloud-native solutions leveraging Kubernetes and modern container technologies
Driving engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing and event-driven architecture
Supporting critical regulatory reporting and compliance workflows across global markets
Troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues, driving continuous improvement and platform resilience
Evaluating and adopting emerging technologies to improve performance, scalability and operational effectiveness
Mentoring and supporting fellow engineers while fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture

Requirements

Strong development experience in Java, Python or similar enterprise technologies
Experience building distributed systems, microservices and API-based architectures
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerised environments
Knowledge of messaging and event-streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or JMS
Strong database experience, including SQL and ideally technologies such as Oracle, Redis or Elasticsearch
Experience with JSON, XML, Avro or similar data formats
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
