About the Role

DCL Entertainment (Toronto) is seeking a Production Supervisor to organize, coordinate, operate, and schedule rehearsals for multiple casts within a state-of-the-art entertainment rehearsal facility. This role is crucial in creating memorable family entertainment for Disney Cruise Line's award-winning theatrical productions.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains daily rehearsal, fittings, and crossover schedules in partnership with shoreside and shipboard teams.
• Manages in-studio rehearsals and breaks, ensuring focus and adherence to schedule.
• Manages Contract Riders for designated casts.
• Conducts meetings, presentations, reviews, and briefs with cast leadership regarding creative, technical, and operational procedures.
• Partners with Resident Director and Creative Team to identify the cast leadership team.
• Conducts informational meetings with cast regarding shipboard procedures.
• Communicates informational updates in a timely manner.
• Manages script, score, and music changes.
• Maintains and updates the "rehearsal/calling script" for each show with technical cues, including notes on lighting, sound, props, scenic, special effects, blocking, and production.
• Manages all rehearsal props, set pieces, and overall organization of studios.
• Reports on and monitors cast compliance with company policies and performance expectations.
• Ensures positive and productive interactions among cast members.
• Delivers or ensures delivery of all HR-related courses.
• Ensures rehearsal space is set up for all rehearsals.
• Coordinates all stunt rehearsals and logistics.
• Travels to the ship for technical rehearsals or run of show for 2-3 week periods.
• Adheres to all maritime sailing and seafarer guidelines, requirements, and regulations, potentially sailing onboard DCL ships as "crew".

Requirements

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in entertainment stage management or production/theatre.
• 4+ years of experience in an entertainment management/production support role.
• Stage management experience.
• Proven experience with calling automation cues, including scenic, lifts, performer flying, pyro, follow spots, and audio (show control).
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain U.S. work authorization.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess and manage competing and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Keynote.
• Demonstrated scheduling, management, and leadership skills.
• Musical Theatre experience is considered an asset.
• Experience and understanding of Disney Character & Theatrical operations is considered an asset.
