About the Role

Grant Thornton is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager to join their UK audit practice. This role offers the opportunity to work with a growing client base in a rapidly developing market, providing audit, tax, and advisory services. Responsibilities

  • Achieve deadlines and understand the commercial implications of actions relating to productivity, recoverability, fee income, and client service.
  • Serve as the key client contact for day-to-day matters.
  • Lead the management of large, technically complex clients.
  • Highlight key issues affecting the audit opinion to the partner and recommend appropriate action.
  • Ensure all audit reports reflect the work performed and meet set reporting and auditing standards.
  • Act as a point of reference for best practice.
  • Provide regular communication and feedback.
  • Encourage training and development for yourself and others.
  • Act as a trusted business advisor to clients.
  • Manage a key client portfolio.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Organize and attend office marketing events.
  • Suggest innovative products to address client needs.
  • Follow up on contacts made.
  • Prepare and present proposals for new work.
  • Build a personal network from which referrals are received.

Requirements

  • Professional qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Experience managing statutory audits for financial services clients.
  • Experience managing audits of large companies.
  • Experience dealing with complex technical matters.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience of IFRS and auditing listed companies is beneficial.
