About the Role
Acrisure is seeking a Commercial Lines Placement Specialist to join its Large Commercial Lines Construction team. This role is responsible for managing and executing key components of the new business and renewal processes for mid-to-large commercial insurance accounts, including overseeing timelines, conducting analysis, preparing specifications, negotiating coverage terms, and presenting proposals.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the timeline and process during new business and renewal, including exposure analysis, quote specifications, analysis and negotiation of coverage offers, and preparation and presentation of coverage proposals.
- Create and execute marketing strategies for select accounts based on risk characteristics, large deductibles, captives, and market analysis.
- Evaluate and analyze alternative risk financing mechanisms, including large deductible programs and captive structures.
- Strategize and build insurance towers for select accounts to provide higher coverage limits.
- Exercise independent judgment in the placement of accounts with alternative carriers, balancing client needs with market conditions.
- Perform year-end book reviews for select accounts to assess placement performance, carrier relationships, and renewal strategy.
- Communicate effectively within the team and with markets, collaborating with Client Advisors on marketing strategy and placement outcomes.
- Review insurance policies and contracts and make recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare property and casualty insurance submissions for new business and renewals, including insurance specifications, ACORD applications, loss summaries, prospect profiles, and exposure schedules.
- Analyze prospect client exposure and/or loss data using Excel spreadsheets and develop financial models for loss-sensitive programs.
- Maintain familiarity and working relationships with insurance companies and wholesalers, staying informed of carrier appetites and market trends.
- Handle confidential and non-routine information.
- Use rating tools and carrier systems for quoting and proposal development.
- Abide by and maintain all licensing requirements, including continuing education.
- Attend seminars, meetings, and educational activities to improve job expertise and product knowledge.
- Perform coverage gap analysis and deliver strategic coverage recommendations.
- Work independently and within a team on special projects.
- Identify opportunities to engage Risk Resources for specialized expertise and partner with them for complex client needs.
Requirements
- Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking, financial analysis, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze complex market data and influence placement outcomes.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while also accepting direction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Experience with Epic agency management system preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to document accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment while delivering outstanding customer service.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance markets and basic applicable insurance coverages.
- Ability to develop and deliver professional proposal presentation documents.
