About the Role

The Group Risk team establishes the framework for risk management across the Group, acting as a strategic partner to businesses and supporting key initiatives. This global function requires individuals to support teams across geographical locations, cultures, and capabilities, fostering opportunities for personal and group development. The role involves close alignment with central Group Risk teams and Coverage teams, focusing on identifying emerging risks, strengthening controls, and helping the business achieve its objectives with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Divisional Risk Officer for Corporate Functions in identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring risks.
  • Act as a 2nd line coverage role for Legal and Compliance.
  • Coordinate the review of the Enterprise Investment Portfolio for risk insights.
  • Oversee the identification, analysis, and monitoring of key drivers for non-financial risk in Corporate Functions.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and challenge through a business partnering approach.
  • Enable the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and its applicable elements.
  • Develop a strong risk culture and promote awareness of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Provide oversight of control improvement, issue remediation, communication, and training.
  • Contribute to the collation and preparation of materials for risk reporting committees.
  • Identify and report risks to relevant committees, business partners, and senior leaders.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance in risk management matters.
  • Encourage best practice and continuous improvement aligned with the Group Risk framework.
  • Maintain positive relationships across all three lines of defence.
  • Support the First Line team in delivering and maintaining the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA).
  • Provide effective and robust review and challenge, ensuring effective risk remediation actions are identified.
  • Ensure all risks identified as near or outside appetite have high-quality remediation plans.
  • Review and challenge key controls, self-identified issues, and internal audit findings.
  • Provide recommendations to improve, develop metrics, and assess efficiency.
  • Offer ongoing support for material control owners and provide recommendations to meet 2LOD requirements.
  • Attend and participate in relevant risk committees, forums, project boards, and workshops.
  • Deliver training and workshops to key partners and employees.
  • Manage the Enterprise Portfolio, including key dates and drafting risk insights.
  • Prepare the Divisional Risk Officer for monthly Committee Meetings.
  • Build positive relationships and collaborate with the Enterprise investment team.
  • Support the 1LOD in delivering their business maturity target.

Requirements

  • Experience in Non-Financial Risk and controls, including coverage roles of Corporate Functions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative across the Group.
  • Global view on problem-solving.
  • Internal partner management.
  • Ability to challenge KRI and KPI outputs and oversee remediation actions.
  • Ability to complete deep dives and analysis on key programs, providing valuable insight on key risks.
  • Experience working on transformation projects.
  • Experience managing transformation portfolios.
