About the Role
As part of our precision manufacturing team at our Berlin site, you will support the production of optical components, assemblies, and systems made of glass, glass-ceramics, and ceramics for high-tech small-batch, single-part, and prototype production.
Responsibilities
- Lead a manufacturing team with operational and disciplinary responsibility, creating clarity in daily collaboration.
- Plan and steer daily operations to meet output targets, aligning staffing, shift coverage, vacations, and time management.
- Prepare, facilitate, and further develop regular team routines for transparent communication, fast follow-up, and clear priorities.
- Work closely with relevant partner functions to resolve issues, stabilize operations, and address escalations.
- Develop the team’s capabilities through qualification, cross-training, and structured knowledge transfer.
- Support hiring activities and contribute to the selection of new team members.
- Use performance indicators to identify deviations, derive actions, improve processes and structures, and contribute hands-on in production when required.
Requirements
- Completed technical vocational training or a comparable qualification.
- Additional qualification as a technician or master craftsperson.
- Several years of relevant experience in a technical manufacturing or operations environment.
- Initial leadership experience in a production-related setting.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Solid ERP or SAP knowledge.
- Effective communication in written and spoken English and German.

Salary/Compensations
- Remuneration in accordance with the IG Metall collective wage agreement (company-specific collective wage agreement) including 13th month’s salary and variable remuneration components
