About the Role

This role is in the commercially managed financial accounting department, requiring full-time commitment. The position is permanent and starts as soon as possible. Compensation is based on the collective agreement for public service employees (TV-L), commensurate with qualifications, up to pay grade 10.

Responsibilities

  • Full invoice processing, including compliant booking in DATEV and quality-assured documentation.
  • Processing payments and ensuring efficient and transparent financial flows.
  • Preparing and transferring Berlin state tariff settlements according to commercial law into financial accounting.
  • Actively participating in the recording, valuation, and maintenance of fixed assets within fixed asset accounting.
  • Preparing monthly VAT pre-declarations and assisting with the annual declaration in coordination with financial management and tax advisors.
  • Supporting statistical surveys with reliable data to aid informed decision-making.
  • Providing precise input for the preparation of the annual financial statements according to commercial law, particularly for personnel expenses, provisions, and analysis of selected accounts.
  • Contributing to the preparation of economic plans and preparing financial information for presentations.
  • Collaborating closely with controlling, supporting the preparation of the BAB (Budget, Actual, Plan), and contributing to the improvement of commercial processes.

Requirements

  • A solid foundation in finance and accounting, demonstrated through a relevant university degree, commercial apprenticeship, or extensive practical experience as a career changer.
  • Ideally, two to three years of professional experience in financial, accounts payable, or accounts receivable accounting.
  • Proficiency in applying commercial law regulations in practice.
  • Routine use of modern financial accounting systems.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good understanding of business management contexts for structured analysis and solution-oriented processing of complex issues.
  • Independent, reliable, and service-oriented work style.
  • Ability to maintain an overview in demanding situations.
  • Appreciation for teamwork.
  • Very good German language skills (written and spoken).
  • Good English language skills are an advantage.
