About the Role
The Stage Technician assists the Virtual Production team and MoCap Supervisor with integrating and maintaining camera tracking hardware. This role is crucial for ensuring a quality data stream between mocap and virtual production departments through consistent camera calibration.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing care and upkeep of virtual production and mocap systems, including cameras, tracking objects, cabling, and AV signal flow.
- Collaborate with the camera department on set to carry out calibration workflows between takes or lens changes.
- Mount Virtual Production data tracking hardware during shooting in coordination with the on-set camera department.
- Assist with Vicon hardware adjustments as directed by the Mocap Lead.
- Perform daily calibration of the volume and calibration of new tracking objects.
- Troubleshoot video feed, tracking, and calibration issues with the Virtual Production team.
- Communicate changeover status or camera changes efficiently to the virtual production team.
Requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with other on-set departments.
- Experience working on set and familiarity with on-set dynamics.
- Knowledge of on-set hardware, such as cameras and lights.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of set etiquette.
